Nehemiah 4:14
New International Version (NIV)

14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes."

God’s people of Judah under Nehemiah the prophet wanted to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Their enemies, however, had other plans which were to kill all of the people of Judah when they were least expecting attack. That being when they were the busiest rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. The people of Judah would work with one hand holding their swords in preparation and readiness while still working. They worked this way as long as the danger lasted.

We men of today need to be just as “watchful” as were the people of Judah. Our children, our wives and our homes are just as much at risk. Choose wisely!
